Congratulations to Fifty-Five Confirmands!

This past Tuesday Bishop Boyea conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on fifty-five teenagers at St Pat’s! Please join me in thanking God for the outpouring of his Holy Spirit upon them and praying that they all may remain faithful to the calling God has on their lives.

Jan 31st Info Night for Going to the National Eucharistic Congress in July

As you know, the Catholic Church in the United States is hosting a National Eucharistic Congress this summer (July 17-21) in Indianapolis. This is the first Eucharistic Congress our country has had in 83 years! This is from the event website:

“At the 10th National Eucharistic Congress, our Catholic family will gather to experience profound, personal renewal through the power of Christ’s love. Like a new Pentecost, this transformation will flow out from Indianapolis to bring revival in our communities as the Church returns to her first love—the source and summit of our faith.

Every day at the Congress is designed to facilitate this life-changing encounter with Jesus, regardless of where you are on your faith journey. Attendees will select their preferred series of
impact sessions for the morning and breakout sessions for the afternoon. Then, gathered together as one, the whole assembly will experience the powerful revival sessions in Lucas Oil Stadium each evening.

Whether you can come for one day or all five, join us for this generational moment.”

Believe it or not, I’m giving a breakout and am slated (for now) to help with one of the main sessions.

In the past we’ve published some ticket prices and how to attend the event in our parish magazine The Connection. Good news: prices have come down and we’d like to continue to spread the word and get parishioners to consider coming to this once in a lifetime event. To that end, we are hosting a special info night on Wednesday January 31st at 6:30pm in McCann Hall. A parishioner who works for a travel company will be talking about what to expect and how to come to and participate in the event.

Your servant in the Lord,
Fr. Mathias
