Congratulations St Pat’s White: 2023 Men’s Softball Church League Champions!
Last Thursday St Pat’s White (the team I occasionally play on), won the softball championship in the Church league. The team, coached by parishioner Mark McKaig is an eclectic team made up of younger and older players, played really well this year. I can’t say that I contributed too much this year since I played not quite two games this season. I think is the third championship we’ve brought home in the past seven years! We have two teams at St Pat’s (St Pat’s White and St Pat’s Green). It is a lot of fun playing our hearts out. It sure is great knowing your church has the best church softball team in the Brighton area! :) Congratulations to our men who play on our team, and the families who support them! (I wasn’t there for the game. Notice they are holding up the number three to indicate the third championship we’ve won!)

Deacon Josh Goes Back to Seminary Next Week
This weekend is Deacon Josh’s last week here at St Pat’s before he goes back to the seminary. It’s been a blast having him here at the rectory. He’s fit in quite well. As an intern, we’ve spent a lot of time together already. Through the summer he’s been following me around a lot and joining me for all sorts of pastoral things in his training to become a priest. We’ve had a lot of dinners at parishioner’s houses too. Deacon Josh will be back at least three weekends a month until he’s ordained a priest in June 2024. He might be be popping back in occasionally at liturgies before the fall. Either way, please say a prayer for him as he begins his final year of studies.
