Marriage Celebration Dinner Night out for Married Couples

If you’re married, it’s important to invest in your relationship and to celebrate your marriage with your spouse. As you’ve heard before, we’re hosting a semi-formal evening of celebration of marriage on February 12 in the PLC that includes dinner, dancing and a live comedian. Please consider signing up and enjoying the evening with your spouse. Space is limited.

How Do I lead People to Faith in Jesus? Alpha

Last weekend you’ve heard testimonies from local people who went through Alpha, which as a reminder is a judgment free and warm way to introduce your friends, co-workers, and relatives to Christianity and faith in Jesus. Rather than trying to preach the gospel to someone you love, invite them to come with you to a no-commitment meal at Alpha. It’s one of the easiest ways to share the gospel with someone.

Young adult Erin Kalahar gave an outstanding short testimony of her experience of Alpha at the 9:30am Mass. As you watch it, think of maybe one of your loved ones, friends, or co-workers experiencing what she experienced. The goal is to invite someone to attend and you can attend with them. Alpha starts February 2nd and 3rd and my hope is that most parishioners will eventually try Alpha and bring others with them. Please go here to sign up and to volunteer and offer your time serving the great effort of sharing the gospel at St. Pat’s.

Living as Beloved Children of God: A Reading Suggestion

From the feedback, it seems like last week’s homily really hit home for many. (Because my homily changed a bit throughout the weekend, this version is one I recommend) God the Father’s love is one of my favorite topics to preach on and to talk about. His love is so deep and good, it’s hard to exaggerate it. I personally found Abba’s Heart by Neal Lozano to be one of the most helpful popular books on the topic. If you’re struggling to find the Father’s love in your Christian walk, I cannot recommend this book enough.

Holy Hour For Life: January 22nd in the Church at 7pm

Please join me for the special Holy Hour for Life with Eucharistic Adoration in the Church at 7pm on January 22nd to mark the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade. We’ll be praying a special way for a favorable outcome of the Dobbs case and I’ll be sharing a little message.

I’ll be away this weekend and taking a few days off, but I’ll be back on Wednesday.

Your servant in the Lord,
Fr. Mathias
