Diocesan Services Appeal Next Weekend (February 22/23)
Next weekend we’re going to do a short pitch for the Diocesan Services Appeal, which funds dozens of critical ministries in our diocese. Having just finished our Stewardship for Saints and Scholars Campaign, I’m fully aware that this might not be the best time for it. But the annual appeal does so much to spread the kingdom in our Diocese and it’s worth giving something to it. Please see the DSA Website for information.

I’m excited to announce that we are hosting a special Parish Grouping Mission for April 1, 2, 3 in the Church at 7pm. We’ll have more information on this event in the months to come, but this is just a Save the Date.
“Parenting in the Digital Age” Presentation Now Available
On November 21st, 2024, our parish and school welcomed Sr. John Dominic, OP and Dr. Karen Villa to present “Parenting in the Digital Age: Are We Wiring for Addiction or Attachment?” to our families on the challenges parents face in today’s culture that is saturated with technology, social media, smart phones, etc. In this important presentation, they highlight three critical findings on brain development and how technology can significantly hinder relational development, which can lead to anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, etc. Practical tools and tips are also shared as we learn and grow together in our understanding of the human person and how to apply this understanding to the challenges of today.
We uploaded the entire presentation on our YouTube Channel here.
Much of the content of this presentation is drawn from the Raised in Grace: Made for Wholeness program developed by Dr Karen Villa and Sr John Dominic. The Raised in Grace program connects childhood development and modern neuroscience with our Catholic faith and Christian understanding of the human person. I cannot recommend this enough.
Your servant in the Lord,
Fr. Mathias
