Branding Rollout for School in March

Our parish school administration has been working with Sherwood Fellows communication consultants since last summer to create the school’s own unique sub-brand of the parish that is consistent with the parish but stands alone for our school. We’ve been soliciting input from families and teachers this whole year. In this time, it’s important to remember that branding is not just about logos, graphics and colors. It’s primarily about effectively communicating our identity and mission. The new branding will articulate in a fresh but traditional way our school identity, culture, and mission. We are in the final phases of gathering data and working on a presentation to the school teachers and the school families. We’ll keep the parish updated when that happens.

Along with finalizing our church renovation plans, we are going to be rolling out new internal signage in the Church building as well, completing the brand rollout here at the parish. Suffice it to say, the pandemic and cost put a hold on completing that project.

Church and PLC Bathrooms Update

We have decided to wait until the renovation of the Church starts before we schedule the renovation of the bathrooms in the Church and the PLC. We are more or less finished with the design. (We are in the planning process for a major update on the renovation in March. Stay tuned.)

Stomach Bug Last Weekend

Lest rumors fly, last weekend I had a 24-hour severe stomach bug that prevented me from going to the Marriage Celebration event and having any Masses last weekend. I just say that here so people know that I’m doing well now, it wasn’t COVID and it wasn’t related to my kidneys. Next weekend (Feb 25-27) I’ll be in San Diego for an Encounter School of Identity event.

Office Closed on Feb 24 for “Made for Mission” Event in Howell

This Thursday February 24th, the Diocese is hosting a Made for Mission event in Howell with plans to gather 800 priests, deacons, and lay ministers from around the Diocese. The goal of this event is to hear directly from Bishop Boyea about his vision, and to learn about what implementation of the Realign Resources for Mission will look like as we refocus on being a Church on Mission focused on the worship of Jesus. Since all of my pastoral staff is required to attend, the office will be closed on Thursday.

Your servant in the Lord,
Fr. Mathias
